Commonly Misspelled Words

For a little bit of fun and to drive home some common mistakes to watch out for I have devised a commonly misspelled words spelling test. If you get 100% right first time, then I’ll be impressed.

There are many words in the English language that are commonly misspelled or sound exactly the same but have a different spelling and meaning (homophone). If you are not a native English speaker, some of these can be particularly difficult to get right (and often a spell checker or grammar checker won’t help you). Even if you are a native English speaker then most of us are not spelling Bee champions, so mistakes are made.

Good luck with the test.
